Dance Extravaganza

On Friday my class went to Nga Purapura for a dance extravaganza. My mum, brother, dad and grandad came to watch me. The first class who went was room 5, my sister's class they did an Irish dance.  I helped out a class called room 10 they did a dance called cha cha slide. and our class was third to last, our theme was... cowboy!! The last class was a class that did a Michael Jackson dance and last of all the teachers did the chicken dance!!  I helped do it too, it was funny. Then my family went home.

Visit to Otaki College

This morning all the year sixes in my school went to visit the College. We got in a group and first we went to Mrs Mac's room, she does counselling and health. After that we went to the canteen but it was locked so we went to Mrs Putt. She works at the careers room. We go there to talk about what job we're going to get when we're older. Then we went to the gym with Mrs Simpson. There was a web made out of ropes, we had to go through the holes and not touch the ropes. 
We went back to the canteen and it was open. The woman who works there is Mrs Catherine, she sells food like cookies and fruit. We also went to art class and I thought there was really good art there. After that we went to cooking class, then went to the new library. There were heaps of books there. 
The last class we went to was science. We had to put wire over some fire then tip it in some acid then heat it over the fire again. Then tip in the acid then we tipped it in some elements like copper and lithium then put it over the fire and the fire changed colour like green, blue and yellow. We had to write the colours down on a piece paper. After that we went into the hall and watched two videos, then we got an envelope with an enrolment form and went back to school.
I am kind of looking forward  to going  to College next year, but I will miss Mrs Batey and my old school.

Talofa Lava, my name is Cruize, I am a year six student at Otaki School. I am in room 9. My favourite subject in school is writing. My favourite food is pork. I have a pet named Lilly and she’s a cat. I like skipping at home and playing with the ball. A place I want to go is Samoa, my nana goes there every year and it sounds great. I want to be an artist when I grow up.

My First Aid Course

This morning I went with my class to our very first first aid course. We did it with someone who works with St John, her name is Mel. We did it inside the hall at school. What we did first was the recovery position when we put the left leg like a triangle the left arm by your head and right arm putting your hand on the floor the ground then flip them on their side. Then next we got into four groups and practised about asthma, broken bones, choking, burns and calling 111.
